Natural and Authentic wines available in limited quantities

Georgia is situated at the crossroad of Europe and Asia, between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. It brings about an extraordinary natural diversity and makes a superb environment for exciting and unique viticulture and winemaking. Tchotiashvili Vineyards is situated in the fertile Alazani River Valley between the Caucasus Mountains and the Alazani River in Georgia’s eastern Kakheti region. The vineyards are established from 1.950 ft to 2.300 ft, where the soil is rich in carbonates and humus. The winery location in this region is famous for its history of wine production and its suitable climate for the cultivation of several rare local grape varietals. The following grape varieties are grown: Saperavi, Khikhvi, Kisi, Mtsvane, and Rkatsiteli.

The Winemaker

Kakha Tchotiashvili is an artisan winemaker with an established winery in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia.  He fights for reviving ancient local varieties, and crafts natural wines according to the rich local tradition. Precise and very careful, Kakha Tchotiashvili is a quiet but stimulating force. He cultivates his family vineyards on organic principles, and makes tiny batches of exquisite qvevri wines in red and amber styles. Kakha underlined that grape health, cleanliness, and relentless attention to the winemaking process are the essential pillars of successful Qvevri winemaking. He produces Amber wine from Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, Kisi and (the rare but thrilling) Chitistvala. Tchotiashvili’s amber wines are pure, fresh and superbly scented, with seducing floral notes, dry herbs, exotic spices, and an amazingly smooth texture. His red wines are very elegant and consistent.

Kakha’s wines are made without any additives or chemicals in the vineyards or in the winemaking process. His wines are produced in Qvevri – buried clay earthenware amphorae. Furthermore, all wines are fermented with wild yeast and bottled unfiltered. Kakha is an absolute perfectionist, and he pays special attention to the vineyards and wines in all stages of winegrowing and winemaking. That is exactly why he produces precise and clean flavors in wine, heavily relying on the ancient methods. The production is limited and hard to come by.

The winemaker personally inspects each bottle before numbering it and releasing to wine lovers. His wines made in Qvevri are credited with high nutritional value, and also able to strengthen your immunity. His premium wines are produced in pretty small quantities, and are very hard to find.
