Small Production. Award Winning Wines Inspired By Nature.
The Ferrero Estate is located at the Podere Pascena on the southern slopes of Montalcino. A traditional farmhouse was restored to its full glory. The ground floor is used for a winery, while the upper floor is a living area. The vineyard consists of 3 hectares and is located at about 800 ft above sea level. The whole operation is run by Claudia Ferrero, who was born in Piedmont, and her husband Pablo Harri, who acts as a cellar worker or a tractor driver when necessary.
Husband and wife team Claudia Ferrero and Pablo Harri are the owners and winemakers at the estate. Pablo Harri is originally from Switzerland and he had been the chief winemaker at Banfi for 17 years. After he met Claudia Ferrero he also purchased vineyards next to Banfi’s reserve vineyards, and finally started crafting wines under his own label. The focus of the Ferrero Estate in the last decade was Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino. Their wines are approachable, focused, clean and precise.
Their estate is situated in the southwesterly corner of Montalcino and is bordered by Argiano and Banfi’s Riserva vineyard “Poggio all’Oro”. The small production of their Brunello di Montalcino averages about 600 cases per year, and is aged in two French Allier casks of 21 and 30 hectoliters (that’s big) for 2 years and then in bottle for another two years before release.
